Poem

Strings by MwsR

There are places, people, and things,
They will bring out great happiness or complicated things.
When you are caught up with any of them, as we sometimes do,
They will greatly impact you.
It is strings that we hold to places, people, or things,
That makes us into who we are and sometimes what makes us sing.
They can also make us weep, confused, or depressed,
That is how you know you once enjoyed things at their best.
Suddenly though for no reason or rhyme,
You find them either gone or not worth your time.
Strings are for holding, but only a particular way,
they are to be admired sometimes but set aside like a display.
Sometimes you need to give slack, every once in a while.
Although if needed they can help you to hold on to a smile.
What are your strings attached to?
I think it is a lot of things, don’t you?
Either hold tightly to your strings or let them gather slack
Because once they are gone, you might not get them back.

Interlocked…..by MSR

It’s never simple
It’s never familiar
When it’s your heart
To open up
To open wide
When hurt abides inside
That question unanswered
That problem not solved
Heartache to heartbreak it seems
Delivered potential damage
Delivered shattered dreams
Holding onto future things
Forever there
Forever aware
Resisting, falling for it all again
Clinging fully
Clinging helpless
Surrender once more
After all its part of life
After all it replays over and over
Move on, must go on
Trading some comfort
Trading some thoughts
Interlocked in life it is

Mental Trip
By MwsR

In my mind, I’ve been there a hundred times or more.
Each time something different or some aspect for me to explore.
I cannot leave until it seems I’ve tried to see
what it is my mind is trying to show me.
It’s like a long hall that leads to the same places
but the places are what change the most, sometimes new faces.
An endless trip for my melancholy mind,
Remanents of what I have in past thoughts left behind.
Tragic to think I could one day loose the main jest
The meaning behind these thoughts my brain invests.
If it is then lead me another way
Be it mental, in person, or another day.

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

Fractures Of The Heart by MwsR

Starting out it is too small to see
but deep down it starts to hurt a small part of me,
Though visibly you wouldn’t even know
A certain feeling instead that starts to grow.
It comes from words that crush your soul
Or feelings turned into actions that dig your spirit a hole.
Like a plant that is starved of food,
It starts to wilt and not look so good.
A minute event that can change the outlook
A part that nothing specific it seems it took
But noticeable and unforgiving in spite
It will continue to fracture if not treated right.
The only way to make it better maybe
To simply leave it alone, you see.
Time has a way of correcting the bad
Or making happy despite the feelings that once made us sad.
Like feelings that became fractures of the heart
Learning to let go is a really good place to start,
To repair, live with or treat the best way
Our fractures will either go or they’ll continue to stay.
But to know we have done the best we could
make us feel better like we all should.

The Love Of A Good Dog…by MwsR

I will always smell, for your smell

And always check on you, to make sure you are well

If you don’t mind I would like to lay in your lap a moment or two

To show you all the love I have for you

We will go for walks

We will have our ”talks”

Friends that became family is what we will be

Nothing will be able to separate us, not even a sea

I hope you always see

How inseparable we will be

Just you and me.

Poem

Zero…that’s you

By me…MwsR

You can keep your distance

That distance protects me.

You can avoid my questions

But it sends an unsaid answer you see.

Trade in the old life and start a new

But that won’t change the blood that flows in us the same.

Don’t mention my name in family situations

It doesn’t change the fact, we share a name.

When talking about the past and I’m left out

There’s still going to be the unspoken.

Like all of us from time of our birth

The bond cannot be broken.

Time will just keep happening

And you will stay the same…inside.

But nightmares at night

You cannot hide.

A seldom encounter….

A similar place

A once in a while glance

When we’re near face to face.

Explains everything but nothing

Expresses too much but too little also.

A look in your mirror

Tells who is the ZERO!
