If They Knew, by MwsR

If people could feel what it is that makes a person’s heart want to crawl outside their body, then they would know.
When the hurt is so bad, you feel your heart start to slow.
Love can do that for many reasons.
It does not differentiate between “human” seasons.
It doesn’t start or end there,
It will creep out from behind and sense where you are, anywhere.
It is hard to let others know what you feel when there are no words
No reason or rhyme, when you feel absurd.
It is an inner thing,
When in the balance of life or the death thing.
If people only knew what I would do for one last conversation with you,
For one more hello or goodbye, one more word or two.
It’s easy to be distracted, not taking into account those you’ve impacted.
For if you knew you could make changes that need to be made
Go outside and sing in the rain,
Walk with your loved one hand in hand,
Not let anything remove you from where you stand.
It is easy to pass condemnation,
That is what is wrong today with our whole nation.
One cannot know all there is to know,
Just by living, without anything to show.
I have had chances, maybe blew a couple or a few,
But there is one thing that would have made a difference,
Usually, it is, “If they only knew…”

Greatest Woe by MwsR

This old world can bring sadness

There are people ruled by their madness

The majority of us are brokenhearted

Separated and our loved ones have departed.

The greatest woe a person can feel

Is ridiculously hard, if you don’t take time to kneel

Pondering the events that eventually will come

When you or your loved one

Has a tragedy, a happening, or occurrence of pain

The kind that swiftly transforms what is in your brain

It will wipe your joy and laughter, right out the door

Take with it anything it wants to implore

Woe has it’s own recommendations,

It wants to create some new creations

Regardless of race, creed, culture, or color

It will grab hold, till you feel like you should hollar

You can fight, but without something greater,

Your greatest woe makes you shout louder

It shares nothing and takes it all

Even those memories you’ve been able to recall

The greatest woe comes from some of the doubt and fear

A whole lot of disappointments, a lot of tears

A bundle created and made just for you

It is there, always waiting, to.

So, if you don’t want to feel it

Don’t let it!

Learn to put emotions in their proper place,

Walk around with a smile upon your face

For no reason at all

Those tears will sometimes fall

But that means you are still able, still alive

To recreate your heart and your life.

No sense in letting things dwell

When your heart has the power to heal

To change you from the inside out.

That is what I am talking about!

Can’t Take Us by MwsR

Overwhelming feelings, piled upon each other

Swept up, making an impact on your life

Who is the one bearing this strife?

Escape routes are blocked, first we must deal with things

Trapped like rats in traps made just to capture them

No one will be leaving, it’s the end.

Things we never deal with can take us

They can replace our normalness and bring such pain

If they end up getting engrained.

With the tides of this life, we can be swept away,

If we give credence to the things others tell us

Just one word, thought, or action can be like puss.

Oozing our infection out from within

Making us ill, making us weak

Taking the things that mattered and making them appear bleak.

We must learn to deal, heal, and appeal what we can

Not so important things are in our minds

Whipping around our thoughts and making us heart blind.

Release hard feelings, hurt emotions, and negative thoughts

We all can, we should

So all of it can’t take us~

Poem

Feelings

Tears drip ever so often

Saddness permiates what I’d not forgotten

Shivers to and from my heart

Pieces connected but standing apart

Peace and comfort interrupted

Mind and soul diverted

Something that once stood for something

Torn from nothing

Yet hanging on in strands

Bigger and louder than the nation’s bands

Twisted making stronger

But also longer

Feelings that bind our hearts and minds

Ever we seem to always find.

Above All Else/Poem

No one should wake up and say to their self, “You are worthless”

Yet often times there is someone who feels helpless.

Something is broken, not right

Someone tossed and turned all night.

People are fragile when it comes to emotions

They have so much inside it can cause a commotion.

Desperate they search for the easiest way

To hide all their emotions and tuck them away.

Regardless of effort their effort is often not enough

This world can be domineering and rough.

People get beat down, often times their heart starts to bleed

They take scraps instead of what they need

Settle for something instead of what they deserve

Rejected and torn, they use up their reserve

Without much warning they dissolve away

The parts that were created to last and stay

The heart is usually the first

They can’t replace what makes their soul thirst.

This vicious cycle repeats and depletes

One’s basic worth and self needs

Over time we grow accustom to being nothing

Having no heart left for something

It all starts with feeling worthless

Regardless of ones conscious

In spite of all effort given

Don’t stop believing

In yourself

Above all else.

It is sometimes that the thinnest cut can bleed the heaviest

Just like for our souls…

Sometimes the thinnest “cut” to our souls can produce the greatest outpouring of emotions.
