The room can get cold
Even with its familiar ways
Too little effort can be given any time of day
Voices repeat what they’ve heard before
Time to close the chapter on the open door
Rest for the body
Repeat for the mind
Nothing is ever too gentle or too kind
Life stops for only short brief pauses
Then it falls back in line
There can be so much push from behind
Strangely things will appear
First in a moment of silence, then through the tears
Have we not lived to love?
Has our hearts not been enough?
Tranquil, thinking for a spell
We all pretend, we know how to so well.
No judges, because there are no saints
Just people who live life, so quaint
Forgetting the struggles for a mere measure of time
But still, they are not blind
They just chose the path
Stay away from the wrath
And swallow happiness like they swallow air
It soaks into their skin,
Ever so often.
Daybreak brings newness
Sunshine is divine
Things continue to grow
Each moment in time
Progress is for the opportunist
Succession is for the achiever
Life continues without pause
Each Christmas brings Santa Clause
Thoughts keep us thinking
Food keeps us strong
Water is for all the living
Time to pray is needed for us all.
Grey hues of shadows upon the ground
Remembering things sometimes can get us down
All this surrounds us
All of this is a day, in not any one certain way.
The struggle is gone, no rewinds
Pictures that are still ever present in our minds
Things in a pose
Freckles on someone’s nose
Smells of cinnamon with ginger accents
Frost that forms on the grassy cement
Listening to one of the greatest old songs
Humming right along
Whispers of laughter filling the air
From others playing, way over there
Tastes that remind of us of childhood times
Splatters of paint, that makes things look refined
Clothes that flow so free
Nameless not branded, that’s fine with me
Comfort in the snuggle of a throw
Softness to touch, you already know
Simple, not complicated
Things that make us feel un- encumbered
A life that is lived
Life that has truly been give.
A life worth living has to include forgiving,
A heart that’s broken needs to be healed.
For us to continue, to grow, to love, to forgive, we need to have pain, trials, and betrayals.
Isn’t it crazy how life can change, in just a minute, a day, through time?
Finding the rail while traveling up the stairs of life, can ensure grounded footing while climbing.
Which will get us where we need safer. Isn’t that what we all want?
Blessed to be alive, to be able to keep loving, to be able to be forgiven, and forgive.
