Poem

When I’m done, I’m done, by MwsR

When I’m done, I’m done

There is no happiness, no fun.

Won’t let it make me sad

Just know without you won’t be so bad.

It’s horrible though

If you ignore what inside, you know.

When glad times fade away

When there is nothing left to say.

The same hello and goodbyes mean nothing anymore

The anticipation now has turned to a bore.

You can and should still carry on, go-ahead

You deserve to continue, flourish, and be anything but “dead”.

If there ain’t no more room in there or with them,

Pick up yourself and walk away, start again.

Who needs complicated, dilapidated, and aggravated?

Not me, not you, not ever.

Poem

Christmas…by MwsR

It is certainly not about who is good or naughty

Now don’t misunderstand me and go-getting haughty.

I think of Christmas as a market made for money

I know some of you are thinking that’s not very funny.

But it is true.

I know you see you, you do.

It should be a celebration of Christ’s birth

The whole frankincense and myrrh.

But sadly I see people so obsessed with gift-giving

Instead, they’re emphasizing all the receiving.

Now don’t get me wrong I am not saying to be a scrooge

Just have a heart that gives love and love will ensue.

Think about widows and homeless people

Think about those you encounter that come worship under the same steeple.

People are fighting just to have a reason

To see the magic in this Christmas season.

They may never know till you take the time to show

It’s not something you can find wrapped up with a bow.

It is what Christmas should represent

It was that hope that God had sent.

His son, the newborn king

The one who gives us everything.

The reason for this Holiday.

The time to get on your knees and pray,

And thank him for the Lord of all of us

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Poem

Christmas Bliss…MwsR
The smell was oh so familiar
Flashes in my mind
Smells of sweet potatoes, Turkey and fixings
The business of the Holiday
All the Christmas decorations array
Wrapping and taping
Cutting and straightening
Times that made your heart glow
Spending it around people you know
It was a good time
It was a long time ago
My mind won’t let me forget
What my heart knew and felt
I will long remember it all
And cherish it and share it
Christmas bliss…Christmas meanings
Merry Christmas it was indeed.

Poem

So Antiquated by MwsR

The room can get cold

Even with its familiar ways

Too little effort can be given any time of day

Voices repeat what they’ve heard before

Time to close the chapter on the open door

Rest for the body

Repeat for the mind

Nothing is ever too gentle or too kind

Life stops for only short brief pauses

Then it falls back in line

There can be so much push from behind

Strangely things will appear

First in a moment of silence, then through the tears

Have we not lived to love?

Has our hearts not been enough?

Tranquil, thinking for a spell

We all pretend, we know how to so well.

No judges, because there are no saints

Just people who live life, so quaint

Forgetting the struggles for a mere measure of time

But still, they are not blind

They just chose the path

Stay away from the wrath

And swallow happiness like they swallow air

It soaks into their skin,

Ever so often.

Poem

Some people want to be near to their family, but can’t. People who wish more than anything things were different, those same people desire to belong.

Don’t forget your blessings, pray for those who are struggling today and every day, just to be asked to be in someone’s life.

Count your blessings

Remember life isn’t guaranteed. Get over past judgments and hurts or feelings that keep you from receiving blessings.

When Thanksgiving Changed by MwsR

The day has always been celebrated without your presence

The talk never has included you

But when it’s mentioned, it’s of course blamed on you.

No verbal request for you to attend

No reaching out to you to try and heal or mend

It’s okay to point fingers at you

Even though it’s okay to assume.

If you were meant to be there

There’d be no doubt left in the air

You’d feel that, right?

No need to fuss or fight

Instead, Thanksgiving changed

When no one spoke your name

When life without you was expected

Needless to say, the lack of effort, feeling rejected.

When Thanksgiving changed you weren’t there

Even though you wanted to be, you wanted them to care

You wanted to be included more than in a passing thought

It was belonging that you sought.

Go ahead and pass the blame

Don’t let it change anything

But when this old life nears its end

Maybe then…

Poem

HeartMoon…MwsR

There’s a moon in my heart.

It only comes out in times of darkness.

You’ll never hear it remark

For it has no words.

Shining yet a shadow over feelings and thoughts.

The purpose of it is quite simple

It is to give a new definition

Give a different perspective.

Like all moons, it can be seen, not taken

And felt by only its maker.

Without it, my heart would have stayed black.

You could say without it I’d never had made it back.

I’m grateful for my heart moon.

Evidence of change.

Poem

It Takes A Believer…..MwsR

Swirling around, somewhere it rests
Only to be awaken

Inconsistent messages start their quests
Only the impact remains

Friends that promised forever
In good times and in bad

Calling only whenever
Forgetting as usual

A family that wandered off into the abyss
Just secretly hid is all

It is not them but their promises you miss
It’s the ones they kept

Memories can anchor or sink us
That’s why there are life preservers

Blood that’s common
Actual connection that’s not

Words are not what we build upon
But actions are

Struggles teach us
Books don’t prepare our hearts

Words followed by fusses
Sink the deepest

Chances to take
If only you’re willing

Come to each daybreak
Ourselves to lead into

The first won’t ensure the beginning
But the end will signal you

At the end or leading,
It takes a believer to start

Poem( diabetes)

Words To My Diabetes
By MwsR

Don’t intrude on my life
I want to be the best mother and wife.

Don’t try to fool me anymore
I can always choose whether to open or shut the door.

Don’t try to take away my liberties
You can’t control anything you’re just a disease.

Don’t separate me from those I love
Or you will feel me push and shove.

Don’t think I will ever just accept this is the way things have to be.
You cannot get me to see.

The diabetes you are so rough
But don’t forget I am the one whose tough.
I am the one who says, “Enough!”
