SEPARATE WAYS WORLDS APART, poem by MwsR

Separate Ways, Worlds Apart

You are there
I am here
You want this
I want that
Thinking first has never been your thing
Acting first is what you bring
Hoping has been my for’te
But you think that’s a waste of a day.
I agree to disagree
But you get angry with me
I wait for you
You walk right through.
Endless work for you
Not for me, that makes me blue.
Giving up is your easy answer
Mine is to dance instead of joining the clamor.
Used to be us
Instead, it is refuse to discuss,
Standing apart
Instead of sharing one heart.
Separate ways now we concede to
Worlds apart , no me with you.

Imagine

I woke up to one of those days

When things seem blissfully content

Where there is many reasons for one to re-invent

I went to the window and noticed the rain

Usually when I see rain it causes me pain

I am not one for rain, and never have been

But today when I looked out, that’s when it all began

I found myself imagining how the insect world must be

What being them and seeing as they see

So my imaginations took  on a rather peculiar twist where

I wanted to know what it was like to imagine it there.

I  imagined that this rain was pounding down on them

It was like their world was being bombed

Or maybe they were filling their pools or replenishing their spas.

Was this a tragic day for them?

Did the rain kill some of their friends?

In the insect world this rain must be harsh,

Unless they like living in a marsh.

Maybe I was over thinking things

Possibly this rain could be replenishing

Perhaps they have gardens too

Like we do

Maybe in their world there are crops galore

I imagine a lake maybe they float on it riding on leaves

Maybe they even like when the rain is pouring down

Is it possible this all could take place on the earth’s ground?

I would say as a human I don’t know all their needs

Nor do I know their wants

But that is what imagination is for

I think tomorrow I will imagine some more.

Snoopy

There are moments I keep treasured in my mind

Times that you were so very happy and free in spirit.

Acting like a puppy, in every way.

I see how time has taken that glee, it upsets me, it’s un-kind

I thought we would always be a pair

As we both get much older

I guess I assumed that in my hopeful mind

Naïve I was, because life is so unfair.

My dog Snoopy

I love taking trips with you on my lap

You loved to hang your head out the windows

Almost like it was your first time doing it

Love hearing you snore when you take a short nap.

Moments are precious and warm your soul

They help heat your heart, so you never get cold,

Too marvelous really to comprehend

They help you keep courage when you grow old.

Our time together has been one of joy and friendship

You have always occupied my heart right from the start

With lots of love and sharing, especially my bed, lol

You’ve been there for so many years, even through my hardships.

If I haven’t expressed all the unconditional love you have given back to me

That is where I messed up

I am sorry for letting you down like that,

You will always mean the world to me, you see.

My world over 13 years ago was one longing for a “little shadow”,

Turn around, you were always there, even leaping over child gates

A dog to love me and follow close along behind me

You came and make that a reality, I want you to know.

What will I do when my “little shadow” is gone?

Something definitely won’t be the same

I guess I will walk and take rides alone.

It is most certain I will have to carry on.

Thinking of the years that have passed

You love me better than some humans

I look in your eyes and I am reminded of what love is

The kind that makes things better, the one that you want to last.

Snoopy you are my buddy, my kid, my comfort and a little trouble,

If I could I would keep you around forever, I really would.

We might get separated one day, as often in life people and things do

I will definitely remember you always, and miss your sweet snuggle.

Summer’s End

At night when the air is warmer than before
When the breeze gently blows your hair,
You can hear a chatter from underneath the deck boards
I often see eyes staring back at me
But I do not always know where they will be.
Holding my breath when I walk outside
Afraid of the movement, I feel my rapid heartbeat.
I wonder what it is, what it must be,
Somehow they manage to haunt me.
More chatter, more eyes, what is this madness I am in
It comes from summers long ago
When out goes the summer and in comes the fall.
It is all the eyes and cries from those who never left,
They are trapped here and I feel like I taunt them
Taking with me the summer memories of the present
While they are lost forever in summer’s past,
Unable to be seen or heard
Forever they cannot leave, how absurd.

STUCK

Stuck in the middle of it,

Reaching for a hand to pull you out?

You should know, it isn’t a hand you need

But your own will to succeed.

World Game/ Poem by MwsR

There are people out here in our world game

Some take the winning lot and others have the shame

It is not perfect by no means

But everyone is searching for something , it seems

Looking to find what it is to make them whole

Make them special and breathe life into their soul,

Almost as if no one expects to win at this game

They start their days anyway without added shame

They twist when needed and bend where they can

Not a fault, just the game that they have to plan.

Everyone is on the board of the game of the world

They move where they want and sometimes they move another.

Indirectly and directly each player affects the whole game.

Win or lose we are in it, unfair though it can seem.

This is the way of things and broken dreams.

If you are lucky you move gracefully ahead,

Seeing an ending without regret.

It definitely changes you, it can also greatly affect you.

So play to make the most moves you can

It really isn’t about winning, it is in how you plan.
