Hi Ya!

I have been trying to grow things this summer. I have myself a garden that has produced for me lots of tomatoes, some squash, some peppers, a couple of zuchinnis, and some watermelons.

This is the first year I have so many watermelon vines covering my old compose pile. I would have to say that they love it a lot. We use to put our scraps in that compose and I believe the watermelons loved it.

I have made my own tomato sauce from some of the tomatoes we have had. They taste so good coming from the garden and not being enhanced in a place , for quicker sales. tomatoes carry a lot of good benefits for you and it is one of my favorite vegetables.

I have tried to grow cucumbers this year, as years past and for some reason a little critter has decided to mane them and keep them from growing into the lovely cucmbers I need and love. I have put crushed egg shells around the base of each plant and tried to enclose them in a wired fence, but some how the critter, probably a ground-hog, repeatedly chomps the vines till they are nothing but flowering useless vines. They are producing no cucumbers at all but having those yellow flowers all over them. Ugh!

I wish no critter any harm but I really could have used some cucumbers this summer. Usually I have so many I cannot keep up with them. Maybe next year!

My garden gives me satisfaction and provides my family with healthy choices to eat. I love it. I am not a big fan of vegetables but here in my garden I can put in those that I do like. It is self-sustaining for the most part, just needs a little weeding every now and then. This year I used that weed paper, it keeps weeds from growing and it is marvelous. I have had very little to hardly none.

If you have never tried to grow a garden, you should try it. It is great when you see what your hands and the earth have created. You can also do pots instead of garden plots. I have a couple of things in pots to. Pots make it easy access and you can put them on your deck for convenience. Tomatoes are great in pots.

Happy Gardening!

Family,

Thank you for encouraging me to do what my heart leads me to do. It is not everyday that you get to do something you like and have the support of those around you in the whole thing.  I knew from the first baby to the last that you guys were and are my world. If you hadn’t loved me so, I do not know where I would be right now.

I am not easy to love at times. I argue, nag and stay on your butts a lot, but only out of love. I appreciate you letting me be goofy and silly and weird. That is just my way.

You guys are my whole world in a basket of love. I wouldn’t want to go through this world without you in it.

Love MwsR ❤

I nominate these people, should they accept and participate.

It is certainly true, that everyone sees things different from one another.

Sometimes what is not important to one, doesn’t mean it isn’t to another.

I certainly have realized this more and more as I grow older. I feel sometimes we fail as humans, because we cannot put ourselves in another’s shoes. We cannot share a space or place, let alone the same planet without taking into effect another person is here as well. Sure, we have our own cars, houses, possessions, etc. but we are sharing this world.

Kindness goes a long way and it trickles into every aspect of our lives and places we go. Trying to keep in mind another’s feelings, wants and needs are what it takes to live in harmony and peace.

I feel like we also fail to see we are surrounded by nature, as well. There are animals here too. Our world’s animals are being mistreated as well. I hear of terrible things people do to them all the time. They live here too and should have certain respect.

Just reminding myself, and those who live here to of the way to treat others. Their lives matter as much as ours. Be it a person or an animal.

I say, ” Show love and empathy, and it will come to you!”

Peace, and thanks for reading!

Keto, is it your way?

As a diabetic, I am always wanting to fill my head with options towards my health and to prevent radical or long-term damage to my internal organs and externally too. I do a lot of reading, researching and the Keto way to eat seems to offer multiple benefits that won’t put me in the “poor house” having to by for it. I just have to point out I am not a professional or nutritionist or a diabetic expert. the information I share is not necessarily my own opinions or findings. As always do your own research for what will work best for you and of course include you doctor’s advice.

If you are into the latest healthy way of living, there is Keto. Here is some information you might find helpful.

Copied and Pasted from this webpage, here is the information …

http://magicalusefultips.com/2018/04/22/1-week-ketogenic-diet-meal-plan/

A ketogenic diet changes the metabolic engine of your body from burning carbohydrates/sugars to burning fats. Once changed the metabolic engine, your body is in a state known as ketosis.

The Ketogenic diet is a high-fat, low-carb diet invented in the 1920’s for epilepsy patients by Dr. Henry Geyelin. Dr. Geyelin observed improvements not only in seizures but also blood sugar and body fat. The end result is faster weight loss!

Generally speaking, the ideal ratio to go by is:

60-75 percent fat
15-30 percent protein
5-10 percent carbs
Be sure to keep daily net carbohydrates at 20g or less. To calculate your net carbohydrates, simply subtract your grams of fiber from your carbs (Net carbs = carbs – fiber).
However, the keto meal plan below is balanced correctly for the proper ratio so you don’t really have to worry too much to start.

How does ketosis work?
The ketogenic diet belongs is in the family of low-carb diets, so it works through a process that empties your glucose from your body. A standard diet has a tremendous amount of sugar and carbs and therefore has trained the body to use those sources (glucose) as fuel.
With this diet, over time we have depleted the glucose in our system and since we aren’t getting it from our diet anymore our body adapts and switches over to get its fuel from fats. The cool thing is we start to burn the stored fat we have in our body. The state of burning fat in this way is called ketosis.
It is important to understand that not only epilepsy patients benefit from this type of diet. It also has positive effects on diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, heart disease, and even cancer.
Because sugar feeds tumors and encourages the growth of cancer, a diet that does not contain sugar and other carbohydrates can help you to prevent or fight cancer. The normal cells in the body have the ability to use fat for energy, while cancer cells can’t metabolically change so they can’t use fat for energy.

This webpage also has a 1 week diet plan guide for you, so check it out.

Just writing a post to let you guys know, I appreciate all your feedback, comments, and “likes”.

I hope you are enjoying what you are reading from me. Don’t forget, I do update my recipes, occasionally, I do post quotes, frequently, and like to share pictures from time to time.

Currently in my life, I am trying to balance being a mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Sometimes I may not respond quickly to your comments or questions but I am interested in them and will respond as soon as I can.

I keep track as much as I can, the posts of my fellow writers. I enjoy reading them and some I just plain ole relate to.

Life can be such a struggle, but when you have hope, friends, and family, you can do almost anything! God helps me personally.  For those that believe in him, you know what I mean.

I hope each of you go through life searching for what you need answers to, looking into things that need your observations. I also hope you follow your passions, dreams, and hopes as far as you can.

Thanks for reading, commenting, sharing, and following. Peace and love to you all.

You would had been… (dad) In leu of Father’s Day.

The you I picture,

Stout and surefooted

Calm and dangerously wild

Present minded but living in the future

Arrogant and stubborn

Supportive but still alone

Restless and spontaneous

Free and in-prisoned by your will.

Proud of family

But desperate to escape world pressures

Enjoyable and humorous

Animal lover and wildlife hunter.

Father, husband, and son.

If I could imagine how you would be…

The most important would be, still here, with me. 😦

Bittersweet

Bittersweet and special were the days with the sounds of running through our house from our three children. When I think of them, I have a smile on my face. Our three kids were close in age and the first two were girls, with the last one being a boy. The many adventures and fun we had during their childhood. I believe for many reasons it kept me young at heart. I was able to stay home during their school years, not work, and often I feel very blessed to have had that opportunity. Kids grow up so fast, it would seem if you blinked for just a millisecond, the time would surely pass you by.

Our oldest daughter was an artsy” kind of gal. She literally spent most of her free time drawing or creating some abstract “thing-a-ma-gig” whenever she could. She would spend hours finding things very small and tiny to craft together and create something genius. We were always amazed at what her hands and mind came up with. She spent a lot of time studying creatures of the outdoors too. I use to brag that she knew everything about everything in the animal world. That was not far from the truth, she really did learn facts and pile them into her smart head. She retained her knowledge of things really well. I think sometimes she must have been born with this stuff already in her”wiring”.

Our second child, was our little song bird. She always ran towards the music side of things. She stayed in chorus groups all through high school and learnt the piano well enough to fill in for her music teacher at times. She was always the social one of our two daughters and she grew to be taller than me, which isn’t standing taller than most of her peers she felt often time, awkward. Her dad and I though thought she was great anyway. She used that height to play sports and run in track so I’d say that was a blessing for her. She hated being the youngest daughter but she did like the fact she had a younger brother.

Our son just graduated from high school and he is very talented as well. Saying this , of course from a mother’s perspective, but it is true. He taught hisself how to play the string instruments very well. He also has a wonderful singing voice. He , like my youngest daughter excelled in music. He stayed in choir all through his highschool. His talents helped him to become more social and he stands tall at 5’10” .The two last kids got their height from their dad.  My son, like all boys, wanted to be tall and he got his wish.

I am very proud of the many talents each of my kids possess. The main thing though as their mom is that they are happy, truly happy. I would not want them to ever feel disappointments, or sadness or defeat. Truth is though our lives were not made to be without any of those feelings. If we learn to gather things from things we go through, we will be the better for it. Sure it sucks, feeling those kinds of things but it is necessary. That way when the best, happiest, most sweetest moments come, we can enjoy them all the more. As a mother I want to always see them smile in the end, after whatever comes their way.

Isn’t funny how we can get so caught up in a moment or situation that we fail to see what really matters, or what we really have when we have it? I sometimes do for myself, and I miss my kids younger days when it seemed there was not much of worry, or anything else that would harm their spirits. As parent we must not fail to remember those times, or those moments when things were special. We must also try to pick our children up when we can and show them it will be okay. Sometimes there are no answers to things and we simply must try to walk them through it. I am not a parent genius or expert, but I know that we only get this one life and that our children grow up so fast.

Take time to remember, reflect, redirect and renew.

Kids grow up too.
