Poem

Visit by MwsR

There is a place whether in a dream or life
That you can imagine yourself being, and leaving behind all the strife.
That place is a resting place for your soul and mind.
It is one that no one but you can find.
When shadows try to take your sun away
You can revisit this place and for a while stay.

A place for comfort, reflection, and rest
This place is simply the best.
Everyone has their place like this
There is no challenge there, at least not in this.
Visit this place when you need
Go there when you can, I plead.

When you get ready to pack
Take only what you need to come back.
Leave behind all the negativity and pain
Because with those things life surely will seem the same.
Revisit if and when you can
There your strength will help you stand.

Wonderment, Wishes, and Hope
by MwsR

Wonderment is out there
Everywhere.
Trying to understand how come
Trying to anticipate when the time will come
To the place where mind meets reason
It has already been so many seasons.
Wishes are still here
From loved ones that are near.
Hoping that the logic will reach your thoughts
Hoping that you look at what we have brought
It’s in our hearts where you live
We have already tried to give.
Hope is the thing we cling to
When blue,
Doing what we have to do
Doing what we least enjoy
Because it is our battle it has turned into
All because of our love for you.

Hey Mister Mister

Hey mister mister,

You definitely are twister

You caused this poor girl to leave home

The rules didn’t apply to you

And for those that laughed

To see such pain

My heart will be done with you.

How Old Are You (poem)

How Old Are You?
by
H. S. Fritsch

Age is a quality of mind.
If you have left your dreams behind,
If hope is cold,
If you no longer look ahead,
If your ambitions’ fires are dead —
Then you are old.

But if from life you take the best,
And if in life you keep the jest,
If love you hold;
No matter how the years go by,
No matter how the birthdays fly–
You are not old.

A Henry Samuel Fritsch was born in 1878 in Illinois who was a pastor and a poet. He died in 1933 and is buried in Jacksonville, Florida.
We do not know for certain that he is the author of this poem, but it is the only information we’ve been able to find. Many thanks to Maggie Ashcroft for her research.

Without you
By MwsR

Seems without you, I forget to breathe.
The sun was not as bright as it was when I am with you.
I know it seems unreal …but it is true.
Without you, my day is dull
My senses refuse to do their job
I feel like a door without its knob.
When it’s time to sleep you are on my mind
I don’t feel like I can sleep at all no matter how I try,
Reminds me of a bruise you get from a hard fall,
Because no matter what you do it will take time to go away.
Please come back sooner rather than never
I can’t live like this forever.

Poem

Sometimes one contemplates

They try and figure out their plight

Perhaps they think on things that keep them up at night.

Sometimes there are no answers

That still does not sit right with them

Redundantly they keep on a thinking, transporting into another realm,

Sometimes even things right in their face

Don’t deter them and they fail to take notice, even if it fits

Things and people will leave you hints, leave you clues, if you can understand this.

Sometimes life is cruel, unjust, and unfit

It goes the same for the smart ones or the dumb

One can only wish there was a way to be numb.

Sometimes the hardest lessons are merely trials

Judgments and persecutions from one person’s mind, to ours

More than all that, is in how we respond, do we cower or soar?

Sometimes there is that one person

Afraid to feel, to live, to love, or to continue with strife

Those people are not the ones who survive.

Sometimes the ones who live, love, and continue despite things

Are the ones who have learnt that anything worth having is not easy

Perhaps they just know.

TWO
By MwsR

Two people,
One is left when one goes away.
There is not enough fortitude for that person to stay.
Two dreams,
One is of comfort, one of pain
Ain’t much sunshine for all the rain.
Two arms,
Both are capable to reach out to another,
One holds tight to their dying mother.
Two different opinions,
Neither one is truly right,
But it doesn’t matter when they are in a fight.
Two endings,
Really there is no way to predict,
One you’ll feel lucky, the other like you’ve been kicked.
Two falsehoods,
One is thought to be true and for sure,
The other sets in motion a great uproar.
Two loves,
Neither one knows much about the other,
But the holder of the love carries that love over and over.
Two kids in the same family,
One will be a preacher, one will be the shame.
Neither upbringing nor circumstance to blame,
Two days,
one with which you will love and cherish
One that you will wish would perish.
Two is either this or that
No one thing by itself all alone,
I could just go on and on!

Poem

Circumstance by MwsR

Out from them, a new life can begin

A touch, a word, or a dream that ends

Something that impacted

Someone who interacted

Taking a move

Changing things to improve

Exploring what will be

Attached like a limb to a tree

Different than before

So much is there to explore

A short or a long journey

Strapped in like on a gurney

At the hands of everything

Yet not a single thing

Into something new

It will happen to you.

Circumstance
