I’ve been working hard on my garden and planted veggies. I am sorry that I have had very little time here lately, to dedicate to my usual multiple postings.
I hope to get back in the swing of things here shortly.
Doing a garden is a lot of work but I love it. Maybe you should try? You can plant in pots, or anything else you can think of.
Here are a few earlier pictures and present day pictures to share.
I am most happy helping create life and in keeping it going, be it flowers, kids, grandkids, garden, animals, etc.
Often the news can make me depressed. There is so much going on in our world, We should try to look at the news though to stay informed. I have started sharing some posts dedicated to what I see in the news. I won’t share everything but I will share some. Hope you find what I share to be informative, sometimes hopeful, and full of information.
Health data is showing that about 25% of people who go to the hospital with severe COVID-19 infections have diabetes. One reason is that high blood sugar weakens the immune system and makes it less able to fight off infections. Your risk of severe coronavirus infection is even higher if you also have another condition, like heart or lung disease.
If you do get COVID-19, the infection could also put you at greater risk for diabetes complications like diabetic ketoacidosis, or DKA, which happens when high levels of acids called ketones build up in your blood.
Some people who catch the new coronavirus have a dangerous body-wide response to it, called sepsis. To treat sepsis, doctors need to manage your body’s fluid and electrolyte levels. DKA causes you to lose electrolytes, which can make sepsis harder to control.
How to avoid COVID-19
The best way to avoid getting sick is to stay home as much as you can. If you have to go out, keep at least 6 feet away from other people. And every time you come back from the supermarket, pharmacy or another public place, wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
Also wash your hands before you give yourself a finger stick or insulin shot. Clean each site first with soap and water or rubbing alcohol.
To protect you, everyone in your house should wash their hands often, especially before they cook for the family. Don’t share any utensils or other personal items. And if anyone in your house is sick, they should stay in their own room, as far as possible from you.
If you get sick
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are a dry cough, fever or shortness of breath. If you develop any symptoms that are concerning, call your doctor about getting tested.
If you find that you have contracted COVID-19, the first level of care is to stay home and check your blood sugar more often than usual and check your ketones, too. COVID-19 can reduce your appetite and cause you to eat less, which could affect your levels. You also need more fluids than usual when you’re sick, so keep water close by and drink it often.
You should also know that many over-the-counter medicines that relieve virus symptoms like fever or cough can affect your blood sugar levels one way or the other. So before you take anything, check with your doctor.
And be aware that if you start experiencing severe shortness of breath, high levels of ketones or DKA symptoms like severe weakness, body aches, vomiting or belly pain, you need to see your doctor or get to an emergency room right away.
How is everyone doing? I am doing fair. I really can’t complain. I can breathe, can walk, can talk, and can eat. Those thing are important, right?
I just wanted to touch base with all my followers, readers, etc. I am staying busy trying to find those zucchini recipes since I have had a most plentiful zucchini harvest. I am extremely proud of it. I also have an abundance of cucumbers, which I love so that is good. I wish you could freeze cucumbers though since I am afraid some will go bad before I get a chance to eat them all. Anyone else out there that has a garden? If you do what do you most enjoy about it? I enjoy the fact it is saving me money, and it is convenient.
I am enjoying the time spent with my grandkids and I can learn a lot from watching them, with their excitement for things and their desire to play. We all could, We need to spend much more time enjoying things ourselves. Perhaps cutting off the television, and taking a stroll outside to see the wonderous nature we can enjoy. It was created for our enjoyment. Since I never know what tomorrow will hold for me, and neither do you, we should make the most of our tomorrows and our todays.
I think that there are numerous things we can do to benefit our own lives. Enjoying our world is one! Don’t you agree?
So I guess that is all I have for today, it is a rainy day here, where I am. Not much else to do but write and think, for me, at least. Hope you all know how much I appreciate your follows, likes, comments, and shares, Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Been practicing making, dyeing, and laying Fondant for my daughter’s wedding cake.
I never knew how simple it is. My husband has the strong hands with which to work it. Thank goodness for that.
He is making her a three-tier wedding cake. Her colors are red and green. We are going to make it tied the looking. She wants it to match her dress. It will also be an outdoor wedding which requires careful planning, as to the manner of, how to keep the cake from melting. This is why we choose to make fondant. Hopefully it will hold up way better than frosting or icing.
I can’t wait to see the finished product. The inside will be tied dyed looking too. It will be great.
I will show photos of it when finished. Hopefully. She is getting married on Wednesday. So I might not post a lot. Please forgive me for that. I am also making the food, so I will be busy, to say the least.
Exciting time here.
17, 15, and 10 1/2 inch zucchini. I am getting some huge zucchini this year.
It is fun watching my seedlings do so well.
I will finish by saying, Hello to you all and thanks for reading, sharing, supporting, and liking my posts. You make it all worth while. Remember you are worthy of great things, love, and peace.
I shall see you all on this side of the rainbow.🌈🌈🌈🌈
I hope everyone had a good weekend and will have a productive and great week ahead. I just wanted to touch base with you all and write some things for share.
I have been busy ! I have been planting, starting seedlings and watching things grow. I have also been preparing my garden area and my flower beds for the productive summer ahead. I love working with the dirt beneath my feet. It is so rewarding for me. Like therapy, in a way, working with dirt makes me happy. Although I am not as young as I feel I wish m body would cooperate better. Ha ha Getting older is fine but I want to do it gracefully.
I really like the fact that I get to share things that interest me on my webpage and blog. It is rewarding for me as well. I love knowing that there are readers out there that value what I write about or post on my site. It How great is that opportunity? To have something that benefits others, is awesome! I am hoping that I get better and better with my webpage and I hope to have more followers, more comments on my stuff, and more exciting things happen.
Life can be good for us. It is encouraging to me to know that I can add value to someone’s life. No, I do not have to personally know you but I hope to be someone who you like to follow and read from. I want to give that extra something to whomever it is that takes the time to include my stuff, my posts, my pages, in their days.
So, in closing I want to wish you all a good and happy life. I shall see you this side of the rainbow!!!!
