In my dreams/Poem by MwsR

On this night I was awakened by a surreal dream.

He was in it , of course, that was how it seemed.

He had chased me around into different parts of this dream

I could not distinguish between them, they each ran right into the next scene.

If I had to have a fear it has always been him.

He who took my trust and vanished it away.

My heartbeat was strong, and my eyes were wet with tears

I knew in my reality it was just a dream but in my heart , it felt so real.

Maybe because parts of it mocked my real life

Possibly things were still sitting on my mind.

I couldn’t shake this feeling I had

Like I was in fear, running from something, I knew was still there.

He gave me feelings I had,  had in my past,

Feelings I am certain now are not gone, but continue to last.

Ones where I am out of control of my life

No where to go, no way to escape.

This dream was a mimic of dreams, I have already had

So thankful I can ultimately wake up from them.

For if the things I dreamed could come true and in that way

I would not want to live in them or wish to stay.

My subconscious is a tricky one I must confess

See, I think things are gone, but then I get reminded they are not.

Powerful enough to give me doubt but not strong enough to knock me out.

Moments, Seconds, Hours, and A Lifetime, by MwsR

For one moment

I’d like to be the experiment

For one moment

I’d like to re-invent.

It’s in a second

Life can cause pleasure or pain

Or life can be totally spontaneous and insane.

It’s in a second or two

You work your way through

In an hour our hope can be shattered

Or our will can be all that matters.

In an hour we all feel and breath and stay

Or we simply choose to walk away.

In days a person can fall in love

Find that person who fits like a glove.

This lifetime, I want more

In this life I want to be adored.

This lifetime is too much to just forget

I would wager you feel it to, too much to regret.

Poem Share/By MwsR

1 small victory makes a person optimistic.

What are we if we have no hope? MwsR

If You Knew

If only you could see

All I know you can be.

You would love you like me.

If wishes made dreams come true

It would be happiness I wish, not gloom.

This would be for you.

If you need to see courage look to the sun,

It shines all day long without someone.

It shines instead of trying to run.

If this made sense, this poem of mine

Then you know you have the power to shine.

Please shine, please and you’ll be fine.

MwsR ❤

Whispers/Poem share

gray smoke graphic wallpaper
Photo by Hossam M. Omar on Pexels.com

It is a faint, yet fleeting sigh

When it enters your heart, it’s a surprise

Tears can’t keep back the echos you hear

When it’s the ones you hold so dear

Some say they know

Some say to listen hurts their hearts so

The truth is they are unpredictable

The feelings are so familiar

To listen to them  in their pureness, surely takes courage

To keep wanting them ,as if to save  them up in storage

Whispers of a person’s hearts

Take root or can at any moment, just flee

There’s no reason or rhyme.

Sometimes it’s just for a season

Whispers of your heart, your soul, and through time

It can be that way with yours and has been mine.

My, Oh My/Poem Share

sun light shining down from the sky
Photo by Angele J on Pexels.com

Questions keep entering my mind

How could one’s heart be so blind

Trying hard to find a solution

Why is it that people let sin start polluting

Time comes and it can go

And we all surely know

Too little  too late

Does not have to seal your fate

Change the things you can

Don;t try to please every man

All that matters is how you strive

Not the impulses where your heart has took a dive

Forgive yourself

Put it away…don’t display it on a shelf

There are lessons in all we do

To learn from them can see us through

Escape, no one can

See that’s the path of man

Eternal life is your gift

If in your heart, your burdens lift

Carry Jesus in your soul

Then after death, his home yu will behold.

Glory in the sky!

My, oh my.

Take Their Power AWAY

When you are young you believe and hope in things

You don’t really imagine there is bad and what it brings.

Life is something you wish to live and go through

When you are young and innocent and not yet blue.

People usually see what they want to see

I sometimes wonder why my mother never saw what was happening to me.

Living was fine until I reached a coming of age

Then that is when I started to feel strange.

I felt like something really wasn’t quite right

Especially the way he wanted to tuck me in at night.

Guess you would have to imagine the confusion I must have had

The times when I wished he hadn’t been bad.

He thought of me as not his kin

In order for him to think of me that way in sin.

All I wanted was his Fatherly feelings and care

I did not like the way he would stare.

I felt as a prisoner in this secret I had

I wanted to tell mom but she would be mad.

Along about adulthood I told her about it

I did not see the anger coming towards me or the fit.

It was I she said that deserved the way I was mistreated

Told me that my soul had always been defeated.

She told me to ask forgiveness and stop the lies

But it was not a lie and I had lived with it all and the cries.

Everything for my father went on as it had been

But that day my life changed yet again.

Now it was not him but her I had to bear

They treated me so unfair.

I did not ask to be adopted nor did I make the promise to love me

It was them and now all this caused me to have to leave.

I fretted every day afraid to be left alone with my own father

But they had nothing to fret not even a bother.

Sometimes life can be unkind,

Cruel and hits you from behind.

Lesson here is be true to you

If something is scary, wrong or not right

It is you that must learn how to fight.

My life had been interrupted and turned upside down

I was the one that had an inside frown.

I was the one who had to decide

Was I going to walk away or was I gonna ride.

I choose to ride away , leave it all back there

Not be in their company because they did not care.

Don’t let nay sayers keep you from living your life

I once did but not no more, I got rid of the strife.

Abuse comes in all forms and ways

Don’t remain silent take their power away!

MwsR ❤

Sad Eyes

I believe there are feelings we cannot see

Spaces filled without any joy or glee

Things that bother us, but remain unspoken

Acting much like a vase that has been broken

That vase cannot serve its purpose anymore

We are much like a vase, we sometimes help carry others

Keeping them safe in one way or another

But if we get broken, we cannot any more

Even if we try to make a quick fix

By trying to avoid,

Look into another’s eyes

Some people’s lives can make you laugh

Some people’s can make you cry.

Sad eyes carry messages

Sometimes you know it, when you see them

Sometimes and more often than not, you won’t.

All we can do sometimes is try and look.

You may be that one link to make a difference for them.

MwsR ❤

If you want to make a change, you can find joy where ever it is. Joy is not easily found and more than not we need to search for it.  MwsR
