Poem

It
by MwsR

It walks with me,
Grabs hold gently.
Used to be like someone caged me
Sometimes it lets me free.
I carry it through conversations,
Long walks and family invitations.
I put it to rest each night
Only to see it sometimes at first light.
Like shoes go on our feet,
It has a place, a name like a street.
When I revisit with my past
It is durable and there as if to last.
Familiar turf and strategic game
There is a part that will always remain.
Not everyone knows about it
Not everyone sees each little bit
The best one it possibly can be
It is the memory, the pain, the life, and me.

It’s Not Alright, by MwsR

***A poem about abuse be it physical or verbal…..*****You don’t have to lay a finger on someone to hurt them.

It’s not Alright

By MwsR

It’s not alright to make a person cry

To make another person want to die.

You think you’re powerful but you are weak

One day you’ll lose that “winning streak”.

Another’s heart is not yours to break

There is so much more, know what’s at stake.

Don’t make yourself their biggest mistake.

Making someone regret the day they met you

Is an error against you it’s true.

People aren’t perfect you see

No one asks, “Come belittle me”.

Maybe it is not physical torture but what you say

Maybe it projects out your mouth day today.

If you can’t leave someone better than you found them at first

Then leave without an outburst.

A man is not to be treated like that

To be used as a doormat.

A simple rule of thumb…if you don’t want it, Don’t give it.

Life isn’t simple or fair

But don’t hurt another….don’t you dare.

Things have a way of coming back to you

Don’t believe me? But it’s true.

Choices, by MwsR

Choices…
Ah, there is so much to say about them.

Choices You Make by MwsR

Whether to go or to stay
Would you be better off anyway?
Knowing what you should do but choosing to ignore
Hope that one day you won’t be on the wrong side of the door.
Trapped in your own accord and deeds
Waiting for that perfect stage where you won’t bleed.
One way forward but ways that are different
Knowing it is where you will meet your intent.
Choosing to be careless
It will show that you’re reckless.
One day you won’t have a say
It will be on judgment day.
There are two judgments one on earth and one in heaven.
The one of earth can’t keep your eternal soul
But the one in heaven can and that’s where you want it to go.

Poem-We Forget by MwsR

We Forget, by MwsR

In self-inflicted blindness, we forget all the ones that are in pain
Then we turn and look over our shoulders never accepting the blame.
Onward we keep going, forever clueless in our own little bubble
Looks like we should access while we are down in the rumble,
But we don’t and then we deceive ourselves into thinking that all is right,
Even when we toss and turn away into the night.
What is it that makes a person truly at peace?
Is it knowing that others we can deceive if they only believe?
It’s like a game of chance that we are willing to partake of
Not caring who we step on or who we shove.
Selfish we enter this world, selfish we leave it.
It’s not just me thinking this and you better believe it.
Why can’t we stop fooling ourselves,
Stop hurting others because they let us, themselves.
We need to acknowledge that we all play a part in this world together.
God didn’t create us to be alone, especially forever.
To care about others we give parts of ourselves away,
For as long as it takes, maybe a year, maybe for just a day.
Anyone worthy of love is worth the learning
When others come first, in actuality we come alongside them.
No, we can’t be always good or right, but we can bring things up and together, just like a seamstress’s hem.

Poem

By MwsR

Life

Life sweeps in on ya from the side

Better hold on it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Take things that scare you and put the fear to strengthen you

Learn all you can, let go off what preys on your mind, too

Step out of the way of strife and greed

Give to all what you can, especially those in dire need.

Keep your morals in your mind and on your heart

These things are great to have from the very start.

Judge not lest you are held on those same standards of measure

Hold dear to things that matter and things you treasure.

Remember lessons learnt and things that make good sense.

Especially when people often give you a fake pretense.

Life can bring with it beauty and blessings

Look for those and you’ll have a happy ending.

Poem ~ Perspective of the One left Behind by MwsR

When I think of you, it includes a lot of questions, so there!

Questions like “Why?” and “What Happened?”, “Was it really so unfair?”

Why is it that life proved so hard for you to bear?

I have had my share of things that weigh on my heart

Things that might, a lesser man, tear all apart.

I chose to stay

Learned it is okay to walk away.

Refused to be the one who never sees the sun again

The one who makes new friends

I chose to live and trudge right through,

Even when it gets neck high, which it often can do.

It got so hard a lot of times

But I turned that negativity around, if not it would of been a crime

A life given is an opportunity to impact,

How can you do that if you only “subtract”?

I will never be that far down, if the good Lord is willing

I will get rid of the blemishes, and all that is lacking

I wish I could of helped you, if you had been near me, possibly I would had

Instead, I found out, from the grieving relatives you made sad.

There was a feeling of helplessness, a feeling of shame

Because in a sense, our society is to blame

It takes a person’s walls and helps to make them taller

Society will make a person feel so much smaller

We walk by those of us that suffer and feel no sense of obligation

It is no longer help a neighbor, but turn the other way, leave someone in stagnation

Shame on us all, shame on the world.

Break the silence, break the stigma, help those who suffer, who feel alone

Or else this world will change so far from what we all know.

People will die and chose not to survive

If we don’t help give them a reason to live.
