Heartache, Send it Away/Poem by MwsR

With matters of the heart

Here comes heartache that smears and leaves inside a huge mark

Unaware as people are

No one notices, really

They try to function day-to-day

 Little do they know

There is no warning sign

No flashing light.

Heartache creeps in

It replaces where trust once stayed

It is almost like it packs a bag,

It is not going anywhere soon.

Little by little the changes seem

To little really to place blame

As if the heart was made of steel

People excuse that deep down, how they feel.

They don’t understand it all

Or they would run away, even crawl.

No one likes heartache, no one needs it either

It is sadly though a fact of life

Somewhere along in your own life you have had it come

It stays for a while and then some

Leaving in its place things that barely function any more,

Things like trust, like pleasure, like joy.

Sometimes it sinks into the walls of the heart

It does not hesitate at all.

However, heartache can be put in the back of your heart, sometimes

That place where you avoid going unless something triggers it

The avoidance does not extinguish it,

All it does is give a person a little while to feel the right way again

To enjoy something that they hadn’t been

In a sort of way, it allows them to pretend.

So if you see heartache coming for a visit,

Turn it away, don’t let it stay

Show it your heart and its courage,

Its fight.

Then, and only then will you eventually be alright.

Too broke, not strong enough

Hanging on every action, every word

Missing things just awaiting the outcome

Letting the world outside pass her by

She let tears drown her pillows at night

Desperately immersed in all the broken she is

Wanting to change things but faster than it can happen

Ignorant to thank people forgive and forget

Letting herself stay broke till all the pieces somehow fit.

Song Twist/ Poem share

I am going to use one of my favorite songs and try to change it up a bit. This is my first try, so bear with me.

Somewhere Over the Edge I Go (Somewhere Over The Rainbow)

Somewhere over the edge, way up high

There’s a thought that I thought of, once in this life of mine.

Somewhere over the edge, now

My heart was turned blue

And the dreams that I dreamed of, never will come true.

Where people are so arrogant while thinking only of themselves,

That’s where you’ll find me.

Where love melts like lemon drops, way above their wicked hearts,

That’s where you’ll find me.

Somewhere over the edge, my blue eyes cry

And all that I ever wanted, does really pass me by.

That was kind of depressing compared to the original “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, that gives people everywhere a lot of hope. Telling people it is okay to dream, and that dreams do come true.

I might be doing this some with other songs. It was kind of fun.

Thanks for reading! Blessed be!

Little Town of Shine/ Poem by MwsR

Life stopped glowing in the little town of Shine, one day

It used to be a place where people stayed

Life there had stopped being special

I think it lost its meaning, it really is hard to tell.

There were no more special events

No special dances or nothing new to invent

This town had let go of all it could be

Let go of its hopes and all of what it could mean

It forgot it could shine

It got lost somewhere in time.

Life there would subtly change

Where flowers are just filters for feelings that feel strange.

No more special

No close circles

For  it was not good enough.

Things that were easy ,suddenly got worse

This town of Shine lost its way

Many  visitors passed through but none wanted to stay.

It was a terrible thing to behold

People that lived there seemed to leave it before they got old.

Stranger than fiction it was

Things that use to grow there now, never does.

Just a little speck of humanity was still around

There had been rumors that a speck of humanity wasn’t in this town.

A speck, what good was that in the town of Shine

I cannot answer that, for this town was not mine.

If you pass through or you want to come in

Look for the light that used to shine from within

Nothing much, I dare say you will find

For the whole town has turned so dull, almost blind.

Nothing to see if you even  still could,

Not much gumption, even if they would.

I would hate to live where the town has lost its shine

Where things are more blahzay than they are sublime.

I just thought I would mention this town of Shine,

Pretty much nothing is left, nothing much to see

But if to it came someone who truly believed

It would gain its shine back again,

Then they could have their fairytale end.
