Poem

Change, by MwsR

When the time comes that you to reflect on your life and the things you’ve done
Will you see someone smart or someone dumb?
Those things you thought were fun,
The things that you swore hurt no one.
Were they worth it?
Were they proper or were they like that of a nitwit?
Are the ones that stood with you now standing apart?
You already know the answer because it is deep in your heart.
Time can’t erase certain deeds, certain paths you chose, the things left undone,
You can’t blame that on anyone.
Certain people let you down, you say
I’m certain they would not see it that way!
No one controls your spontaneous combustion,
It is certainly your life, not theirs that needs constant adjustment.
Go ahead smell all those “roses”,
Hang around all those that constantly pose,
But when that gets old or you find some other venue
Maybe you will see what you’ve put those that love you through.
It’s hard to be happy when you’re playing catch up all the time
Trust me, I’ve seen that with friends of mine.
Think before you act
Always leave things intact.
Don’t refuse to pay back anyone who’s lent you a hand
Take the praise and the reprimand.
Swallow your pride,
Keep your mouth closed from the inside.
Listen to reason,
Be willing to change wrong things just like the months change the season.

Paper and Pen~poem

Stead firmness can be found

Once,I did stand,on solid ground

Not anymore

My heart cannot find its footing

My feet cannot make a stance

Too much sand and water under them

Life Is full of hardships that have taken a toll

I’ve watched people come

I watched people go

Some of them really hurt me

Some of them I wish had stayed

Is this how my life is supposed to have been played?

Fighting the many who came for my soul

Prayers and dreams kept me afloat

Sometimes, the tide turned me over

I had to swim with everything that was in me

I grabbed at twigs or anything I could find

The twigs were those that listened

The swim was my struggle

The tide was those that took love from me and threw it away

Like in nature, all fight to survive

This has been me, in my life

Sometimes, I fought my own self

Sometimes I ran away

So many things I can remember that I never got to say

But that’s in the past

And I think I’ll leave it in my poems

In my writing, with paper and pen.

I’m sure you’ll hear from me again.

Poem

Broken by MwsR

May be hurt but that’s not broken

Maybe fell but that’s okay

First a fool, then a nothing

But still trying to be something.

Too many chances

Too much clutter to push thru.

If only it was another time

A wide open space

But it is not.

Retracing too many questions left unanswered

Misunderstandings float around in the mind

It feels like death, not just being blind.

One word can replace so many more

Just by the tone or words used.

Taking upon your own

All the bitterness and wrong.

Losing not the many battles but the final war

Just because you feel

Because there is so much more

Left to have, to hold, to unfold

But alas it is too hard a task

Broken, that’s what will last.

Short Parable by MwsR

“Learn to fly”, said the mother bird as she pushed her little one from the nest.

Fly, he did.

Until a giant hawk spied him.

His mother didn’ t warn him about the many dangers in the sky.

Only the ones crawling on the ground.

If his mother had of, he would had never took to flight.

Sometimes the things we do know are not the things we need to know.

Life is about taking chances.

If we let our fears rule us we would never really live.
