Excerpt from my book, “Heart Stones”

Hello,

https://www.amazon.com/HeartStones-Mws-R/dp/1387356887

This is one of my poems from my book of poems, entitled, “Heart Stones”. You can purchase it from Amazon.com or Lulu.com. One thing to remind of oyuo is that my name, the author’s name is put like this….Mws R. It is broke into with the “R” being the last name. I have had people tell me it is hard to search for my books because the way they were entering my name.

This poem I wrote because someone I love was going down a path of self-destruction. They were making wrong choices and their life was spinning out of control. Instead of planning for their own future, they were living in the moment, the not so good moments that they had chosen for themselves.

If you know of someone struggling and you have prayed for them, cared for them, and you have done all you can, this is a poem for you and possibly them.

Please Try…by MwsR

The pit of my stomach wants to give you more chances

Despite all the critical onlooker’s glances.

They think there is no hope for you

Cover for HeartStones
Heart Stones

Yet they don’t love or hope for you like I do.

I am so scared to let you lie to me again

I am afraid my forgiveness will fail here towards the end.

I hurt for you

All those plans and things might not come true,

Th telling you I love you is simple

But trusting you is hard and cumbersome, like water with a ripple,

it would appear to be in control

But really is struggling, you know.

Inside each of person we need to decide whether importance is given to unimportant things

And if along the road it will be worth all the pains.

Sometimes in a brief second, I catch glances of times past.

In my heart what I want is for good times to last.

Sadly, it is not in my hands.

I have given you all my demands.

Yet you shrugged and then walked away

Seems tears are all that came from that day

I fall to my kneel and constantly pray.

Maybe one more day, maybe one more start.

Or maybe it will stay heavy  on my heart.

Please try!

You know why.

There are more poems in my book that I hope you will find you can relate to.

Please get yourself a book , possibly give as a gift to someone who may need encouragement or simply to feel that they are not alone.

Thanks for reading!

Forgiveness

cross jesus summit cross

I write a lot of stuff that may seem to be in a hostile way.

See everything is not all bright and gay.

There is power though in things we can choose

Like loving another despite the fact they do no good.

Or teaching someone something to try to make their day better

Perhaps just letting someone pass in line, if you have the time.

All these things go farther than you and me

They take on a purpose and they start acting like a stream

That stream will flow through to another, then another one

I know I have done it, and I am not done.

Forgiveness is necessary as well,

Probably one of the most important to tell.

If you can’t get past all the animosity and pain

How do you expect to float to a higher plain?

It is true what they say about “coming back to you”

I have seen it for real, it is true.

So let’s learn to forgive, even when they sure as heck do not deserve it.

Let us remember they are still human, you can see that.

We can change their life as well as ours

If we forgive them, we release that burden, the one that towers

We can finally let things go

We can make new what we had destroyed by holding on without forgiving

This life is for those that give while they’re living.

Forgiveness…

Teaching…

Giving…

We have to teach our generations to forgive and give, or else we are destroying ourselves from the inside out.

Looking in the mirror before the morning rush

Questioning another’s lust.

Too small to strike any fear in someone

Yet strong enough to evade that someone.

Feeling all your curves and wondering why

You were made a gal and not a guy.

Why is being a gal so hard?

Who says that we need the onlookers eyes

Why must we pay for other’s transgressions

A secret is what we are amongst their lies.

Brushing through your hair

Trying to make yourself less when compared

But never really reaching that goal

It probably wouldn’t matter unless you were real bold.

Wondering what is it you did

Was it in fact your looks

Or was it something more psychological like you read in books.

As you stare at those eyes looking back

You are so lost in the questions that you may lose track

No real answers today, like all the ones before

You just leave your shattered mirror laying on the floor

Who cares anyway it never was inspiring or true

Imagine if you can , if she happened to be you.

Lingering Breeze/ Poem by MwsR

There is a lingering breeze

It carries your scent to me

I often breathe it in

So I can feel close to you again.

It flows with such a purpose

My heart needs it

My senses grab on

It settles in my heart

There is where you will remain

This lingering breeze

Carries your essence to me

It helps take me back to times gone by

It transforms the tears I cry

I love this yet it is such a burden

Always having this lingering

This reminder

This essence

These tears

This love as well as a burden.

Dreamland/ Poem by MwsR

You once took my hand,

You said you would take me away to that happy place.

Promising me that what was going on was a total nightmare and not real

But I was the only who could see and feel it.

You whispered right to my soul

Told me that bad people are only in the movies

But I found no comfort in those words

Instead I lived without comfort for many years.

You said there would be rainbows after the rain

Sent me wishing along a path of make belief,

Showed me nothing and still wanted me to follow you

To believe you, and I willingly was naïve.

Turns out that behind every dream I ever dreamt of happiness,

One of sorrow interrupted me.

I found nothing to help

No one in my world to grab a hold and not let go of me

All I had when it was said and done was a need to flee.

I stopped dreaming for it left me falsely in a daze of happiness

Instead I stopped listening to you and faced the awful dread.

Don’t bother me anymore!

I can’t live in that Dreamland.

Sun/Poem

Seeing the sun and all it shines upon

Knowing that is has so much power

Able to go “shine” wherever it chooses to

Beneficial to all living things, the giver of abundance

Every flower, every tree, and every being looks up to it.

Imagine a world without it…

Without its loving touch

Without its warmth

That would be tragic and scary

Nothing would grow, no tree, not any flower, no being.

Things would gradually cease to exist.

I personally love the sun and what it can do.

Don’t you?

“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
Dr. Seuss

“I’ve always envied people who sleep easily. Their brains must be cleaner, the floorboards of the skull well swept, all the little monsters closed up in a steamer trunk at the foot of the bed.”
David Benioff, City of Thieves

“I want to see beauty. In the ugly, in the sink, in the suffering, in the daily, in all the days before I die, the moments before I sleep.”
Ann Voskamp, One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are

The Waking”
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I have to go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree; but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me, so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.”

Falling/Poem

dream_about_falling_down_by_bucz

Complicated and misunderstood

Things get twisted awfully good.

Separation starts but a little at a time

Not one person notices that distinguishing line

Stress is all-consuming

Like a renter trying to find money for the rent.

Purpose gets lost in the bustle

Surviving takes first thought

Denying is a way of coping

Neither pride or honor matter anymore.

So what if this does not make sense anymore

There, over there, is always an exit door.

Better change before it changes you its way

Better live before it takes your whole life.

Screaming will make silent the pain

But you aren’t suppose to complain.

Who knows how it all will end

Oops, there is a dare in that, you don’t understand.

Like water drifts in different directions

So shall we all.

Unless you can no longer stand after the fall.
