Mr. Linky.png

Once there was a swallow, with wings of blue, hues of red and hints of green

I saw it once in real and in one of my dreams.

It was the most graceful bird I had ever seen.

Fluffing it’s wings as it stroked them to make presteen.

Stopping long enough to look at me

While I was enamored with the sight of what I did see.

It started pulling berries from a bush, I suppose to eat

When it spotted a cat ready to pounce at him, with its feet.

The cat jumped and the bird lost its hold

Oh my! How could that cat be so bold?

No more bird, and it’s joy to me it did bring

All that was left behind was a little wing

Laying in the grass below.

How could that cat be so low?

No more swallow with wings of blue, hues of red, with  hints of green.

Nothing left of that graceful bird, the one I had seen.

Phone Calls

There was such silence this morning. I could almost hear a pin drop. I sat there reading the latest magazine I had. Drinking my coffee. That is when my mind started drifting to a time when there was so much chatter, running through the house, and you could hardly hear yourself think. Those times were the simplest of times and filled with such busy exciting moments. I had three kids. They were my whole world and I stayed at home with them. I sis not know then what I definitely know now, that life changes so fast, things happen and one day you find yourself without all the joyous “firsts” and the excitement of taking care of your children.

Now, I found myself sitting alone in the kitchen. I was trying to fill the void of being without small children in my house, and for once I found myself wishing to go back to that chaotic blessing. Yep, the chaotic blessing of having a house filled with lots of love and lots of good times. I also longed for the times when things were fast paced and when I found myself running here and there just to take my children to their soccer games or their basketball games. The times when you left home thinking you were prepared for the trip yet found you had left something behind in all the hustle and bustle. Yep, those times.

Here lately I have been finding myself hopeful for the phone calls I look forward to from my , now grown and moved out kids. I run to the phone in anticipation hoping that one of the phone calls are one of them. I it not funny that we try to rush through our lives and we fail to see the future and what it could be? I seldom thought about them leaving home when they were young kids. I never really dwelt on the days of having no kids at home anymore and what would I be thinking or doing because of that. Simple  phone calls mean the world, now to me.

Crazy as that sounds, phone calls will to you too if you have kids. MwsR ❤

Somewhere Over In Dumb-bo ville

Everywhere you can look there is things in our country that can make you think, “wow”. I am not sure why I used the title I did for this, but it could be because i wanted to talk about a few things that are dumb.

For instance…

More technology for one. Are we not already full up to our necks with technology? For instance, the other day I visited a local store. I saw the strangest thing. I came upon an oven that has a LED panel in the oven door. Now i am just like any other person I like to be informed and have up to the date things and what not, but come on! Do we need a LED screen in our oven? I am sure you have seen the refrigerators with the screens that interact with your mobile phones, computers or laptops. That I thought was a little too much and now I see an oven with a LED screen. My first thought was, “yes, let’s make a hot, dangerous oven appealing to toddlers!” Are you getting me here? What makes a person want to have a “tv” on their oven door???

I am just all struck by that.

Another thing…

These devices that listen in to your homes and cars that have them now, how much privacy do you really think you have? I would say not much. My question would be , ” What does somebody know about you?” from these devices. Not to mention can they access cameras and safety cameras to look on in your private space? Think about it!

Personally, it is kind of creepy thinking that some device knows me like that! Better yet can turn on things, turn them off, and can view what I do inside my own home.

Okay so you like technology, you like being up on the techno ladder, but how much are you freely giving away to someone you don’t know? Also, how safe do you like your home, your belongings, what you do behind closed doors, better yet, your children’s safety? Well let me tell you, it comes at a cost you may not yet realize. I guess you will have to decide what you are willing to give up or willing to take to become high on the techno ladder.

Welcome to SOMEWHERE OVER DUMB-bo ville.

I am not trying to put off on anyone who has these gadgets or things, just trying to give you something to think about. Please accept my apologies if you live in Dumbo-bo ville.

No offense given.

Grandeur/Poem

Pristine decorations adorn the bride’s veil

Snow white lace upon the wedding dress tail

Whispering ones can be heard because despite the music

Although the ushers all seem altruistic.

Music from speakers, that sounds very familiar

The music plays on one song after another, which is kind of the allure.

People entering the place with exquisite looks on their faces

If I did not know what it was, I would declare it was the races.

So much planning for a rather short ceremony

t that’s the way of things concerning matrimony.

Music gets  intense  as all heads turn in unison

Here comes the bride, coming out from behind that partition.

Grandeur, I see on this most special occasion.

But as soon as it’s over, I will look for a catabasion

For which to hide

I don’t do well with crowds, I won’t lie.

For now I will watch as two become one,

My friend and her someone.

MwsR ❤

Trying my hand at this, don’t ask, lol
