Poem by MwsR

PERHAPS

Perhaps this is a test

Maybe a trial

Should we all sit back and think of it a while

Does our future lie in wait?

Maybe dreams are second to this

Perhaps there is something greater we might miss.

A greater force is present

Something more to the equation, despite

Our best efforts, from everyone running with fright.

There is a time for everything

A time to mend,

A time to bend

There is time to heal and resist being ill

Somethings under the sun will hurt like a quill

Sometimes there will be rumors and such

Bringing our full attention, we should, very much

Time to help, if we will

Give back and support others still.

Things are meant to change

This sometimes means making a radical move

Making sense of this, because there is much to prove

Our minds need rest,

Our bodies need strength

The people need answers, the need restrictive covenant.

Poem

Strings by MwsR

There are places, people, and things,
They will bring out great happiness or complicated things.
When you are caught up with any of them, as we sometimes do,
They will greatly impact you.
It is strings that we hold to places, people, or things,
That makes us into who we are and sometimes what makes us sing.
They can also make us weep, confused, or depressed,
That is how you know you once enjoyed things at their best.
Suddenly though for no reason or rhyme,
You find them either gone or not worth your time.
Strings are for holding, but only a particular way,
they are to be admired sometimes but set aside like a display.
Sometimes you need to give slack, every once in a while.
Although if needed they can help you to hold on to a smile.
What are your strings attached to?
I think it is a lot of things, don’t you?
Either hold tightly to your strings or let them gather slack
Because once they are gone, you might not get them back.

It’s Not Alright, by MwsR

***A poem about abuse be it physical or verbal…..*****You don’t have to lay a finger on someone to hurt them.

It’s not Alright

By MwsR

It’s not alright to make a person cry

To make another person want to die.

You think you’re powerful but you are weak

One day you’ll lose that “winning streak”.

Another’s heart is not yours to break

There is so much more, know what’s at stake.

Don’t make yourself their biggest mistake.

Making someone regret the day they met you

Is an error against you it’s true.

People aren’t perfect you see

No one asks, “Come belittle me”.

Maybe it is not physical torture but what you say

Maybe it projects out your mouth day today.

If you can’t leave someone better than you found them at first

Then leave without an outburst.

A man is not to be treated like that

To be used as a doormat.

A simple rule of thumb…if you don’t want it, Don’t give it.

Life isn’t simple or fair

But don’t hurt another….don’t you dare.

Things have a way of coming back to you

Don’t believe me? But it’s true.

Poem

People…by MwsR
We meet all kinds.
We share with and trust a few.
For me, it might be you.
They come in and out of our world
They give us either great lessons or understanding
See the choices I’m claiming.
I see different traits
Different battles
And it’s their faith that settles.
Why do we just exist?
Among others
Mom, dad, sisters, brothers.
Why can’t we take something
Rearrange something
Are all our lives for nothing?
Make a spark
Let it grow into a fire
Reaching others as you inspire.
Teach and learn lessons
Give and take back what you can
That should be a rule for all of man.
Life is a journey, a game
We are the players
Let’s love and cherish
Never letting that perish.

Poem

When and Where People, by MwsR

When newness starts

Stagnation, leaves

Where hope abides

People will believe.

Limitless is the imagination

On this planet we live

Where we strive

People start to give.

Forward, often hoping to make the change

In a desperate world,

When survival often kicks in

People start acting strange.

Everyone looking only at tragedy

Right before their very eyes

When compassion comes in

People stop thinking just about their selves

If simple was the life we were meant to have or possess

The difficult would have no purpose

When it gets hard

People grow and tend to think of themselves less.

Let’s all take a second or two,

Take time to reflect

Where mind is over matters

People will shine true.

I hear , rain

There is a storm going on as I write this blog. It has lots of thunder, lightning, and rain, as most storms do. Usually I look at a storm in a more cautious way than I am tonight. Tonight, I am thankful for the rain. I have a garden that is drinking up all this rain, which in turn will benefit it and me, so that makes me thankful. Usually rain, storms keep me indoors wishing I was outside. I usually complain and go to unplugging my electronics that I hold dear, like my  computer, and my phone. I really get annoyed sometimes. If a storm is really bad, I often sit in worry over things I have outside or the “what if’s”, in terms of damage or being without power.

Much of a person’s life can be related to things in nature if you only look. I feel like storms are relative to a person’s struggles through out their life. Sometimes the “storms” a person has are simply a rough patch, perhaps a struggle, possibly a time with many downs instead of ups. I think of storms in relation to a person’s life as a sort of wake up call. To me storms are often things that come out of no where often times and they bring with them lots of noise, rain and sometimes strong winds, perhaps hail too. In their wake they leave broken trees, damaged buildings or damaged things. In our own life we have moments that feel like this too. It is possible for damage to happen that we cannot repair. Often times we lose something we really liked or loved. In life we often loose something that means something to us. In retrospect, it can be a good thing.  If you relate the rain, storm, to a person’s life, one might see it is often needed to help “us”/things grow.  Sometimes a person has to experience this. Although it is difficult to “weather” a storm in one’s life, it is not impossible. I have seen beautiful people come from experiencing the worst storms in their life.  I have also seen people who did not handle storms well. By not handling storms well they missed out on something that could have been phenomenal, much like a thunderstorm.

One thing I am still learning and have learnt from life, is that nothing should always be easy, convenient, or quiet. We should experience up’s and down’s and things that grab our attention as well as things that shakes us. To be human is not always easy, but there will be good times after bad, happy times after the sad, and hope after despair. Storms or not we will always have changes.

Time to embrace those changes or maybe look at them differently, perhaps!
