Poem

The pull is getting stronger

With each day I embark upon

My soul is trying to talk to my heart

But there will be no help found

Sometimes we have to go through grief

We actually have to own it

And in all that, we must maintain

Feelings, having them it’s hard

There is a fine line between heart and mind

Some days the heart takes over

Other days, the mind

Don’t go searching for peace!

Peace is something that slips in

Sometimes it’s because you get a sense that you’ve done everything you can

But other times, it’s where you land

There is a phrase, “whatever tomorrow brings”

Who’s to say what that will be?

Will it be one that will make you free?

Perhaps not!

Maybe you will wake up as you did today

Fighting the battle between your heart and mind

Or maybe you’ll be like some, naive

I have a constant need, to know

Perhaps you do too

Right now, in this minute, in this second, just survive

Say to yourself, “ It is here, now I will deal with it.”

Don’t plan, don’t worry, don’t stress

When the time comes do your best

Sometimes the best is surviving

It is how we handle or deal with things

For now, that’s how I’m doing

Leaving everything to chance.

With my will and a prayer, I will manage.

I might not like it, but I’ll do it.

Poem

It
by MwsR

It walks with me,
Grabs hold gently.
Used to be like someone caged me
Sometimes it lets me free.
I carry it through conversations,
Long walks, and family invitations.
I put it to rest each night
Only to see it sometimes at first light.
Like shoes go on our feet,
It has a place, a name like a street.
When I revisit with my past
It is durable and there as if to last.
Familiar turf and strategic game
There is a part that will always remain.
Not everyone knows about it
Not everyone sees each little bit
The best one it possibly can be
It is the memory, the pain, the life, and me.

Poem

Just How It Was
By MwsR

It was hard, trying to be a kid. Much harder than anything else could imagine.

Almost as hard as back in the day, when people drove a horse and a wagon.

All she wanted to do was play. No one even noticed or glanced her way, or so she thought.

The day was always long and dragged on. Her heart became a stone that others walked on.

Neither naive nor stupid, she was in between.
That is because her life was not as it seemed.

Becoming a little lady, she still longed to be a child, young and pretentious.
Nothing to keep her attention, except her imagination and dreams, which made her seem more and suspicious.

Guilty almost just because she breathed.
No one even cared about her enough to believe.

Something wasn’t right with her, something a miss.
Someone in her house was guilty of this.

Alone yet she lived as one of four behind that yellow front door.
So much went on there, so much more.

It was hard, hard to live there.
So hard to smile, so much to bear.

Much more than anyone imagined.
That’s just how it was.

Poem

THE by MwsR

The urgency of your day

Walking faster, just to get away

Silent opposers at every side

The constant need to say “Good Bye”

Frantic outbursts you say when you’re alone

Trying to manage it before your mind is gone

Secrets that come a calling

Trying to bury things will only keep it prolonging

Open arguments that never get settled

Each person goes there own way, feeling ground leveled

Things left in boxes because you have little motivation

Chores that need to be done, but don’t get done, exhaustion

Things that wear us out, bring us to a standstill

Mind and actions that we shove through, still

We should repair, rejuvenate, and remove

After all there is nothing we need to prove

But all is for gain and affects everything

Running away never solves anything,

Putting off things, you’ll never accomplish much

This is the truth of it, as such.

Simple by MwsR

The struggle is gone, no rewinds

Pictures that are still ever present in our minds

Things in a pose

Freckles on someone’s nose

Smells of cinnamon with ginger accents

Frost that forms on the grassy cement

Listening to one of the greatest old songs

Humming right along

Whispers of laughter filling the air

From others playing, way over there

Tastes that remind of us of childhood times

Splatters of paint, that makes things look refined

Clothes that flow so free

Nameless not branded, that’s fine with me

Comfort in the snuggle of a throw

Softness to touch, you already know

Simple, not complicated

Things that make us feel un- encumbered

A life that is lived

Life that has truly been give.

Whispers by MwsR

It’s a faint and yet fleeting sigh
When it enters your heart like a big surprise.
Tears can’t erase the echo you hear
When it’s the one you hold so dear.
Some say they know
Some say to listen hurts their hearts so.
The truth is they are unpredictable
The feelings are so compatable.
To listen to them surely takes courage
To keep wanting them as to save up in storage.
Whispers of a person’s hearts company
Take root or can just flee.
There’s no rhyme or reason
Sometimes just for a season.
Whispers of your heart, your soul, and through time
Can be yours and will be mine.

This By MwsR

Hardest ever, decision

Sadness is the infliction

Hesitant, because I’m sad

This decision will turn me mad.

Fearful, of life without him

Regret starts to set in.

This, is not fair

Others get to keep from getting their scar

I won’t not, to think about it

But I must eventually face it.

Where does your heart go

When it doesn’t know?

This!

Poem and thoughts

Shadows…by MwsR

Remnants of pain

Scars of mistakes

Debts that you can’t escape

Patterns that have been repeated

Crosses that we must bear

Promises that we have shared

Forgiveness that isn’t deserved

But given despite that

In our hearts is where this is at

Courage to continue

Thoughts and changes

They bring about exchanges

Shadows don’t define our real person

They merely show us some parts of us

You can change your shadows

You can make a different one

It is possible to …

Change, redefine and renew

*When we keep things foremost in our life they control our thoughts. So if we redirect our thoughts, our lives, and learn to forgive ourselves we can have a better life.
