Wings/Poem Share

Wings, by MwsR

Soft, beautiful and strong

Each right where they belong.

Complete dependence, one of another

To carry the load with each other.

Fluttering in a weightless, timely measure

Seeing this is truly a treasure.

Oh if we were wings

That would cause us to sing.

Just knowing that we are important and can do a great thing.

That we are right where we belong,

Soft, beautiful, yet strong.

Frozen

Can you feel it?

Can you feel it way down deep?

Or has it haunted you in your sleep?

You have become numb and changed

The pieces that were once limber are stiff.

Why is it that we stay on that frozen cliff?

Too many things have been affected

Your goals and your visions have become neglected .

It’s as if your own soul has been rejected.

You can no longer see clearly now there is a haze

You try to get back what time tries to erase

When in all actuality you cannot continue the chase.

Waiting for that one rock to knock you and shatter you into many pieces

Hoping that the Sun will warm you and bring you back to living

Where once breath was inside of you now you have nothing that’s giving.

You are frozen.

You are frozen in time.

You are frozen in time because you have grown cold.

No spark is left no flame will burn

Until this curse has risen

You need to realize what it is you have to give and how much more of your life you have to live, just listen.

You don’t have to be frozen

Time doesn’t have to freeze

You can avoid being cold…

The spark is there it will ignite the flame

The curse will rise and you shall remain

Like a…/Poem Share

Like a storm from out of nowhere

Drifting away like a dream or stare.

More scattered than the grains of sand

But finding common ground to stand.

Troubles thicker than molasses

Smears that collect upon the glasses.

Too much sometimes

Too little I find.

Promises that prick you like roses

People that will leave you in droves.

Lies without guilt

Steamy words from upon their lips.

I’m insignificant

Though I feel transparent.

Walking always, somewhere

But heading nowhere.

Jokes are about me

But I’m not laughing, you see.

Thoughts are for the things that matter

Not for hearts to shatter.

But can’t make it go

Can’t, you know?

Life and love intermingle

Circumstance and perhaps, all dangle.

Forward just one time

Backwards, when it tries to unwind.

Feelings…friends…words…and thoughts

Consumes Me/Poem Share

Consumes Me

When in the dark I rest my spirit

I find there is no bliss,

Just time to heal the damage that’s been done

Time for me to escape the “feel”.

When you are a prisoner to the world of words and feelings

There is no real release.

Instead every ounce of your being is consumed and tortured

Just like a prisoner waiting for his sentence to be handed down.

I rest but, yet I am still tortured

Tempted by the “why’s “and what “if’s”.

I don’t know how others do it,

Leaving things to settle and finally being free.

I think I will forever remain incumbered by these things that consume me.

Mother’s Day Blues/ Poem Share

Mother’s Day Blues

(My birth mom)

Like a gem, you were one of a kind

In my heart at least, and in my mind.

I never got to tell you things

Or even show you I could sing.

I wanted to know what was in you heart

I always did from the very start.

You were so significant to me

You were so significant to see.

Yes, in a way I am bitter and sad

But it is the way it is and that does not make me glad.

I wonder what your fears were and your dreams

I often think of very trivial things.

Like, you never got to see my inner heart

But that was always kind of hid, since we were apart.

If you had a favorite food, I would not know

See these are those trivial things I really can’t let go.

See these are those trivial things I really can’t let go.

Those things that you did, the things you knew.

The wishes you had,

Even the little things that made you mad.

I took for granted there would be time

There would be a chance for our hearts, yours and mine.

As I do every Mother’s Day and every day

I want to be able to have a chance to say,

I miss you, I really do, not in the way others thought of you

The way a child does when a piece of them is missing

When there is the one thing they grew up wanting and wishing.

The family says I look so much like you

I really think that is what I will always use to help when I am blue.

I wonder if the days had been longer and the time had not come so soon

Would I had finally got to know and love the real you?

Effort, poem by MwsR/Poem Share

F A L L I N G…

…Like leaves during a burst of wind on a new fall day

Too hurt though standing

With not much left to say

Thawing inside from the brutal words

That came from your frozen heart

Nothing can comfort the frost bite I have already

Is it too late, or am I not ready

Like dew that forms on a still blade of grass

I often see myself as coming up last

Trying hard though, in spite of it all

Helplessly wandering,

Never towering, but  just very small

Like rain before a hurricane, I give a good effort

Even knowing that the storms will come

That is always a good beginning

At least, it is something

Oh, the things that plague me the most

They are the good intentions that sometimes go array

Falling to the wayside unattended

As if I had nothing left to say

Oh, if effort could really be all one needs

Things could certainly be different,

At least, for me.

It’s Not Alright/Poem Share

It’s not alright to make another person cry

To make another person want to die

You think you’re powerful but you are weak

One day you’ll lose that “winning streak”

There is so much more , know what’s at stake

Don’t make yourself, their biggest mistake

Making someone regret the day they met you

Is an error at best, against you, it’s true

People aren’t perfect, or don’t you see

No one asks, “Come belittle me.”

Maybe it’s not physical torture but watch what you say

Maybe it projects out from your mouth in a different way

If you can’t leave someone better than they were when you found them at first

Then just leave without such an outburst.

Man was not meant to be treated like that

To be used simply as someone else’s doormat

A simple rule of thumb should be, if you don’t want it back, don’t give it

Life isn’t just simple sometimes, or fair

But don’t hurt another, DON’T YOU DARE!

Things have a way of coming back to you

Don’t believe me, but it is true.

Whispers/Poem by MwsR

Sometimes faint and sometimes fleeting spies

When they enter your heart like a big surprise

Tears can’t erase the echos that only you can hear

When it’s from the one you hold so dear

Some say they know

Some say to listen, hurts their hearts so

The hardest part is they are unpredictable

The flash feelings are so incomprehensible

To feel  them surely will take courage

To keep wanting them as if to save them up in storage

Whispers of a person’s hearts company

They take root sometimes and resonate inside, you see

There is no reason or rhyme

Sometimes only lasting for a season, just like mine

Whispers of your heart, as well as your soul, and through all time

They can be yours and they will be mine.
