Hey EVERYBODY!

How is everyone doing? I am doing fair. I really can’t complain. I can breathe, can walk, can talk, and can eat. Those thing are important, right?

I just wanted to touch base with all my followers, readers, etc. I am staying busy trying to find those zucchini recipes since I have had a most plentiful zucchini harvest. I am extremely proud of it. I also have an abundance of cucumbers, which I love so that is good. I wish you could freeze cucumbers though since I am afraid some will go bad before I get a chance to eat them all. Anyone else out there that has a garden? If you do what do you most enjoy about it? I enjoy the fact it is saving me money, and it is convenient.

I am enjoying the time spent with my grandkids and I can learn a lot from watching them, with their excitement for things and their desire to play. We all could, We need to spend much more time enjoying things ourselves. Perhaps cutting off the television, and taking a stroll outside to see the wonderous nature we can enjoy. It was created for our enjoyment. Since I never know what tomorrow will hold for me, and neither do you, we should make the most of our tomorrows and our todays.

I think that there are numerous things we can do to benefit our own lives. Enjoying our world is one! Don’t you agree?

And…

I shall see you on this side of the RAINBOW!

“Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother.”

Power Naps

Power naps are those short, revitalizing rest periods we take throughout the day to get our energy back up when we need it most. They’re short, sweet, and certainly feel effective whether you’re a sleep-deprived college student or working long hours at your job. But it’s natural to wonder whether these short naps can actually help you catch up on sleep, or if they’re setting you back even further.

“Short naps or power naps definitely do work,” said Rafael Pelayo, MD, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Stanford Center For Sleep Sciences and Medicine. Though the sweet spot for naps seems to be between 30 and 40 minutes, he told POPSUGAR, if you have time in your schedule for a short nap when you need one, it can give you a quick bump of energy.

And for people who struggle with narcolepsy, a sleep disorder that leads to chronic drowsiness during the daytime, Dr. Pelayo said that short, scheduled naps can be an effective treatment.

You should pay attention, though, to what happens during your short five- to 10-minute naps. Typically, Dr. Pelayo explained, it takes our bodies about 90 minutes to enter REM sleep, which is the period in which you’ll experience dreams. If you’re not getting enough sleep at night, that REM period is typically the part you’re cutting off. Your body responds by slipping directly into REM as soon as you get a chance to nap.

In practice, this means that if you’re remembering dreams that you have during short 10- to 20-minute naps, “then really your body’s screaming at you that you’re not getting enough sleep,” Dr. Pelayo said. Short power naps feel good and are good for you, helping you to catch up on sleep, but if you’re relying on them regularly and experiencing deep sleep and intense dreams during that rest period, it’s worth reevaluating your sleep schedule and trying to get more of your shut-eye at night.

Did You Know?

Also known as shark suckers or suckerfish, remoras are long, thin, dark fishes that are distributed throughout the world in warm seas. Ancient sailors believed remoras had the power to slow or even stop a ship by attaching themselves to it; the name remora, which means “delay” in Latin, arose from this ancient superstition. The poor remora’s reputation isn’t much better today. Even though remoras don’t harm their hosts, they are popularly thought of as unwanted guests who get a free ride and a free meal by way of the efforts of others. It is therefore common to see remora used metaphorically in such contexts as “hungry paparazzi who attach themselves like remoras to celebrities.”

Poem

WE Are Not Perfect,
MwsR

It is not merely living in this old world that we must do
It is in showing love to someone that cares about you
In finding happiness in the smallest of things
Even if for a short time , the smile it brings
One must repent when they do something wrong
One must try to live in harmony like a song
If ever sadness that you may have sent
Try to forgive yourself so you’re not bent
We learn by errors, and lessons we face
Errors do not have to hold us in that lowly place
Whenever people choose to forgive
They not only start to live
But ungrudgingly give
For us all to exist, to resist, to persist, there must be a greater purpose
There first must be a surface from which to start
One that does not crumble,
One that withstands all the grumble,
In order to achieve , receive, believe there must be a better place
Whether it is inside us or in front of us, or in that infinite space
Find it, capture it, share it.
Forgive, receive, believe

Don’t let past mistakes, past judgments, past actions keep you a prisoner.
Forgive others, forgive yourself, you are just human after all and we are sinful from birth.
Make amends when you can or however you can try not to repeat the same mistakes, move ahead without looking back and staying trapped.
Try not to get overwhelmed
Tell those around you how much you care and love them while you can still do it.
Remember everybody struggles, everybody messes up, everybody deserves to be happy and be loved.
TO all my friends that know this struggle, I wish you peace.
